Social Assistants Wanted for the Authority Department
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.
Authority Department
The Authority Department, with around 70 employees, works with case management according to the Social Services Act and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons.
We also have the Prevention Unit, which includes support for relatives and health for those aged 65 and over. We are also responsible for fee processing and housing adaptation grants. We investigate, decide, and follow up on services for individuals who, due to age or disability, need support and care. We have an important mission that makes a difference for others.
The Authority Department within social services is looking for two social assistants. The role involves providing administrative and practical support to the department's units. By relieving caseworkers of their administrative tasks, you contribute to good quality, legal certainty, and a sustainable work environment.
The department is currently undergoing a transformation due to new legislation and reforms. To meet upcoming demands and create stable working methods, we are now strengthening the organization with two social assistants.
Your Responsibilities
As a social assistant, you will work with administrative tasks that support the caseworkers' daily work. The role is service-oriented and involves many points of contact, both internally and externally. You will interact with colleagues, residents, and partners, contributing to creating clear and functional processes in daily work.
The work is varied and requires a good ability to adapt to the needs of the organization. New tasks may arise at short notice, and you need to be able to take responsibility for ensuring they are carried out in a structured and professional manner. In this role, you are an important part of the department's administrative support and contribute to the organization being able to perform its mission effectively and legally.
Your tasks include, among others:
- Staffing the reception phone and handling incoming emails
- Managing incoming documents and document and case administration
- Booking and rescheduling meetings, sending out documents, handling mail, and providing internal service
- Administration related to IT
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone with relevant education at the upper secondary or post-secondary level, for example in administration, social work, or equivalent. You have experience in administrative work and are confident in your administrative role, with good experience working in digital systems. You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and hold a B driver's license.
It is advantageous if you have experience working within social services or other public sector work. Knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL) and/or LSS is a plus. Furthermore, we would like you to have experience in supporting users in digital services and e-services, as well as education or experience in digitalization or AI.
To succeed in this role, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks. You work in a structured manner with a good ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work, while being flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances. You act steadily and professionally in your role and have a service-oriented, respectful, and professional demeanor.
You thrive in an administrative role with many parallel tasks and work efficiently, accurately, and solution-focused. As a person, you are unpretentious, confident in social contexts, and have an easy time collaborating and communicating with others. You have a good ability to coordinate work and create trusting relationships in accordance with applicable decisions and guidelines.
Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the recruitment process, so do not wait to apply!
